Not only does Rubery boast a host of independent traders in its main street, of course mixed with High Street chains, but its own indoor market Father’s Barn is going from strength to strength.

Although hit by a fire last October, most services including the florist and mobile phones, remain unaffected and in fact a new café has just opened there. 

Rubery also has an active traders’ association which we work with as a council to promote events and activities – not least the Christmas lights switch-on. 

It’s not just about shopping or the Longbridge links – the village is located in the valley of the Waseley and Lickey Hills, and within the basin of the Callowbrook and the River Rea so there’s lots to see and do…
