A trip to Bromsgrove offers the opportunity to experience traditional High Street shopping in a bustling conservation area full of character and fascinating architecture.

Planning Policy in Bromsgrove has prevented the creation of out of town retail parks so the town retains traditional and vibrant High Street shopping in the Town Centre with a good mix of national retailers and local independent shops.

It has undergone a £2million renovation which saw the High Street refurbished in 2014. Bromsgrove’s High Street contains an impressive range of big brand names including Waterstones, Clinton Cards, Boots, Dorothy Perkins, Argos, New Look and many others.

These are interspersed with independent shops which include, mentioning just a few; butchers, greengrocers, jewellers, fashion, florists, accessories, gifts, cake shops, cobblers, school uniforms, sports, knitting, bridal, healthcare, travel agents, hairdressers and a toy shop. Keep up to date with any new shops opening here.

The range of goods on offer is increased further on a Tuesday, Friday and Saturday when the High Street hosts a busy street market the charter for which was granted in 1200. The Markets are run by CJ’s events who organise both the normal markets and specialist markets such as the Food Festival in June.

A regular programme of events can add to the experience of shopping in Bromsgrove including the Bromsgrove Carnival, the Court Leet Celebrations and Christmas events as well as a mix of other street entertainment throughout the year.

A wide range of food outlets, cafes, restaurants and pubs are available for the visitor to the High Street, from historic inns and small coffee shops to national chains such as Costa Coffee, Greggs, Prezzo, the Slug and Lettuce and Wetherspoons.

Bromsgrove High Street retains a dedicated Post Office and all the major banks. The Town Centre also houses the new Bromsgrove Health Centre, the Council Customer Service Hub, the Library and the Leisure Centre so giving every opportunity to combine shopping with accessing everyday essential services and leisure activities.

With award winning public toilets complete with dedicated, clean, breast feeding facilities, a recently upgraded bus station with around 30 departures an hour, and being easily accessible by foot, bicycle and car, Bromsgrove offers a varied and enjoyable family friendly shopping trip.
